Rule "Reporting Services Catalog Database File Existence" failed


Error :
Rule "Reporting Services Catalog Database File Existence" failed

Solution

Open the folder
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA"
Delete the below files from the folder

ReportServer.mdf
ReportServer_log.LDF
ReportServerTempDB.mdf
ReportServerTempDB_log.LDF

After deleting the above files ,click Re-run in the setup window

    the reason for this is "
    This issue occurs because the databases for the SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services instance that you want to install already exist on the computer"

  21. i was trying to install SQL 2012 -web on 32 bit OS, which had SQL server installed on it previuosly and then got uninstalled, i faced similar issue and by following the suggestion, it got resolved...thanks for saving my time.

    Please search for the MSSQL folder and you can see the pattern
    "MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA"
